Phase 2: VOEG Intensive Curriculum and Implementation Training

This 5-day intensive will provide trainees with an in-depth understanding of how to implement the VOEG curriculum at prisons, jails and re-entry sites. Topics to be covered are:
  • An in-depth explanation of the VOEG curriculum learning units:  Crime Impact Statement, Self as Victim, Cycle of Offense, Forgiveness, Impact on Victims, Facilitated Dialogue with Victim Panel, Relapse Prevention, Debrief and Goodbye
  • How to facilitate VOEG assignments in a small-group setting including opportunities for Trainees to facilitate a simulated VOEG group that consists of prisoners and/or other attendees as group members who are processing personal accounts of the VOEG Exercises
  • Overview of how to assess the culture of an institution or organization in order to target the appropriate decision-maker to approach regarding program start-up and implementation, and to tailor the VOEG implementation process so that it can be assimilated into daily operations and security protocols while addressing needs of specific populations
  • Understanding and managing the developmental stages of VOEG including pre-screening interviews, starting a new group, establishing trust, development of the group agreements, managing difficult group members including those with a mental health diagnoses, how to sync survivor and participant stories on the day of the dialogues, and extensive advanced small-group facilitation opportunities
  • Overview of how to establish the VOEG Program at New Sites
  • Explanation of professional documentation to be presented to new sites
  • Professional evaluation by IPP Lead VOEG Facilitator/Trainer

Requirements
Completion of our Phase 1: Basic Victim Offender Education Group (VOEG) Training. 

Cost
  • Training Fee - $725
  • A limited number of partial scholarships are available. If requesting a scholarship, we ask applicants to include a specific dollar amount. When doing so, please give thoughtful consideration to the maximum that you are truly able to afford so that this important training remains accessible. 
  • Significant discounts and/or full scholarships will be provided to participants willing to volunteer at remote replication sites in California.

Payment Information
Once you are selected to attend the training, IPP will send you a bill with payment in full required 30 days prior to the training date in order to hold your space in the training. If you cancel 21 days or more in advance you will receive a full refund minus a $25 service charge. If you cancel with 20 days or less notice, you are not entitled to a cash refund. However, as a courtesy, we will allow you to apply your payment toward a future IPP training within one year from the date you cancel. Please note that if you do not attend and you do not cancel as described above, you are responsible for the entire payment. Please also note that we can not guarantee that another training will be offered during that year.
