Bev Shelby (Advisory Board President/Chairperson) is an Executive Event Planner and she is also a long time volunteer with Insight Prison Project. Having completed her Victim Offender Education Group (VOEG) training, Bev began facilitating an IPP sponsored program in San Quentin called KidCAT; “Kid” stands for the age the offenders were when they were sentenced (all were juveniles) and “CAT” stands for “Creating Awareness Together.” KidCAT was developed as a way for incarcerated people to give back to the community inside and outside, and it utilizes a restorative justice framework in a six month program that focuses on early childhood development. Bev brings her project management and event planning skills to IPP, including planning IPP's largest fundraiser of the year, is a facilitator trainer for the Phase 1: Basic Victim Offender Education Group Facilitation Skills Training, and is currently serving as our volunteer coordinator. Bev has served on the IPP Board of Directors since 2014 and transitioned to the Advisory Board of Directors with the merger of IPP into Five Keys Schools and Programs in 2020.
Delia Ginorio is a nationally recognized expert in criminal justice reform and approaches. She is the Survivor Restoration Program Director for the San Francisco Sheriff's Department and is a key leader in the award-winning Resolve to Stop the Violence Project (RSVP). Delia has been instrumental in bringing Restorative Justice into law enforcement, which has helped shift the focus to offender accountability, survivor restoration, and community involvement to reduce recidivism, responsibly return ex-offenders to their communities, prevent further violence, and improve public safety. Delia leads a team of survivor staff that works directly with the women, children, and men who have been harmed and silenced by violence in their lives, providing them with practical and emotional support for leading healthy lives. Delia is dedicated to the empowerment and education of the disenfranchised. She is a highly regarded trainer and speaker on topics such as violence prevention in jail and in the community, approaches for working with clients who experience intimate partner violence, new approaches for law enforcement in working with survivors of violence, and Restorative Justice principles and practices. Delia has provided key trainings and keynotes to law enforcement agencies, community-based organizations, and corporate America locally and nationally, as well as internationally. As a survivor of violence, Delia understands the importance of providing services to all those affected by crime.
Sean Hutchinson is Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Value Advisors (SVA). He is also a managing partner of Legion Capital Strategies, a boutique investment bank providing SVA clients with direct access to the private capital markets for mergers, acquisitions, capital joint ventures, and capital raises. Throughout his almost 25‐‐‐year career, he has advised companies throughout the U.S. on ownership transitions, competitive strategy, growth, valuation and value creation, restructuring, recapitalization, mergers and acquisitions, and governance. Mr. Hutchinson is the former Chief Executive Officer of Integra Realty Resources, a global company based in New York City and at the time of his leadership the world's largest real estate advisory firm. Mr. Hutchinson currently sits on the Boards of three privately‐‐‐held companies, including that of his 60‐‐‐year‐‐‐old family‐‐‐owned business. He is a member of the national Board of Advisors for the Exit Planning Institute and the president of EPI’s Northern California chapter. In 2013, he was honored with the Exit Planning Institute’s Leadership Award and in 2015 received the Exit Planning of the Year award, the organization’s highest accolade. He is a nationally recognized thought leader in value acceleration, transition planning for business owners, rapid growth strategies, and private capital markets. He is also a member of the Axial Forum’s editorial board.
Dr. Fred Luskin is one of the most recognized researchers and teachers of forgiveness in the United States. He is the director of the Stanford University Forgiveness Project, a senior consultant in health promotion at Stanford University, and a professor at the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology, as well as an affiliate faculty member of the Greater Good Science Center. Dr. Luskin has clinical licenses as a marriage and family counselor, educational psychologist, and clinical psychologist. He also holds credentials in counseling and school psychology. He is the author of Forgive for Good: A Proven Prescription for Health and Happiness, and Stress Free for Good: Ten Proven Life Skills for Health and Happiness.
Billie Mizell, Chair Emeritus previously served as the Executive Director of Insight Prison Project, which grew nationally under her leadership, and currently serves as Chair Emeritus of IPP. She is a founder of Acting with Compassion & Truth (ACT), a nonprofit that focuses on LGBTQ education, awareness, and healing for incarcerated people. She is also a co-founder of Transformative Prison Work (TPW), a collective that convened more than 40 organizations serving incarcerated people in order to grow services in carceral settings while raising awareness among the public and with legislators. Billie has worked on numerous death penalty cases as a Mitigation Specialist. She is the former Board Chair of Death Penalty Focus and founder of the Coalition to End California Executions (CECE), which was established to provide the California governor with the information and inspiration to cease executions of the more than 730 people on California's Death Row. This effort was realized with Governor Newsom’s recent order to halt executions and dismantle the death chamber at San Quentin. Billie has also investigated and written about cases of innocence, including the Angola 3 case. She has consulted for the Northern California Innocence Project and collaborates on special projects with the ACLU, Amnesty International, and many other organizations dedicated to criminal justice/prison reform, racial justice, and gender & LGBTQIA equity.
